This is where the XC90 continues to make such a strong case for itself. There is real room for people and cargo, but the cabin never feels like it was designed around utility first and luxury second.

The Center Walk makes the third row genuinely easier to access, while four-zone climate control, heated second-row seats and the panoramic roof make the back of the XC90 a much nicer place to spend time.

COLOR & DESIGN

Thunder Grey works beautifully on the XC90.

It's understated enough for Volvo's flagship SUV, but there's a subtle blue-grey character in the paint that becomes much more noticeable as the light changes. Against the bright chrome grille, window surround and integrated roof rails, it gives the XC90 a clean, tailored appearance without looking overly formal.

The upgraded 21" Double Spoke wheels are especially important here. They give the XC90 the stance its proportions deserve while keeping the overall design elegant rather than aggressive.

Inside, Charcoal Leather and genuine Wood Inlays keep things simple and distinctly Scandinavian, while the panoramic roof prevents the dark interior from ever feeling closed in.

Understated from a distance. Much better the closer you look.
